Payroll Administrator

Position Description


Title: Payroll Administrator

Reports To:  Director, Compensation and Benefits



  • Process bi-weekly Canadian payrolls across eight provinces using ADP WFN (Work Force Now)
  • Prepare bi-weekly input for hourly and salaried employees
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and G/L reconciliations
  • Prepare payroll reports every pay
  • Verify government remittances
  • Manage all WSIB/WCB /CSST/EHT remittances
  • Audit of all payrolls
  • Process all Union payments for Pension, Union Dues, Welfare & Credit Union
  • Prepare Records of Employment
  • Prepare and calculate manual cheques and statements as required
  • Process all employee changes and additional payments
  • Prepare year-end balancing and tax forms relating to Year-end T4 / RL-1 etc.
  • Verification of compliance of documents (i.e. Payroll direction, job offer letter, SIN/Work Permit)
  • Filing of all payroll related documents
  • Set up files for all new hired employees
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • Assist in Payroll system testing and documentation for new releases, improvements and solutions 



  • 5 – 10 years payroll related experience
  • College/University degree (Preferred)
  • Experience with ADP WFN (Work Force Now)
  • CPM designation or in progress
  • Excellent Computer skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & communication skills
  • Ability to speak French is an asset
