
Title: Intern, IT Network (Summer 2026)
Reports to: Manager, IT Network
Role Summary: The IT Network Intern supports the IT/Network team in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure. This role provides hands-on experience with networking technologies, system administration, and IT support while assisting in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Monitor network performance and help identify connectivity issues or bottlenecks
- Provide basic technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting network-related problems
- Support the setup and maintenance of LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks
- Help document network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
- Participate in network security tasks such as updating antivirus software, applying patches, and monitoring for vulnerabilities
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls
- Work with senior network engineers on projects such as network upgrades or infrastructure improvements
- Perform routine system checks and backups to ensure network reliability and data integrity
- Stay updated with emerging networking technologies and best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds safely and as required by the role.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the role.
- Ability to travel on-site within the GTA as required
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA – in progress is acceptable)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)
- Familiarity with networking hardware and operating systems (Windows/Linux)

Compensation & Work Arrangement:
- Competitive Base Salary between $20/hr. - $25/hr.
- Hybrid Work Model: Minimum 3 days a week in the office.
