
Job Title: Summer Student, Enterprise Application Development
Reports To: Associate Director, Enterprise Application
This position is for Summer 2026 (May – August).
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Enterprise Application Development Student to join our IT team for the summer. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience building, maintaining, and scaling the software applications that power our business operations. You will work alongside senior developers and architects to solve real-world problems, improve system efficiency, and contribute to the full software development life cycle (SDLC) in an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Assist in developing new features and maintaining existing enterprise-level applications (internal tools, ERP modules, or customer-facing portals).
- Coding & Debugging: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Identify and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Database Management: Assist in writing SQL queries, designing database schemas, and ensuring data integrity across enterprise systems.
- Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, API specifications, and user manuals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (University or College) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Programming Knowledge: Proficiency in at least one enterprise-grade language (e.g., Java, C#/.NET, Python, or TypeScript).
- Web Technologies: Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
- Databases: Basic understanding of Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and SQL.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to break down complex business requirements into technical tasks.
Compensation & Work Arrangement:
- Competitive Base Salary between $20/hr. - $25/hr.
- Hybrid Work Model: Minimum 3 days a week in the office.
