Title: Property Accountant, Summer Student

 

Reports To: Accounting Manager

 

Position Summary: The Property Accountant position serves as a key accounting resource working alongside the rest of the accounting team. They will be assigned various tasks to assist the team with meeting their objectives.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Financial Due Diligence

  • Monthly financial statement preparation and variance analysis
  • Monthly journal entries with proper supporting documentation
  • Account reconciliations – includes asset & liability general ledger account reconciliations, ensure sub-ledgers reconcile with general ledger
  • Maintain monthly and year-end accounting working paper files – year-end file to include proper supporting documentation for all balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain proper quarterly and year end accounting working paper files.

Revenue/Treasury

  • Assist in preparation of potential AGI/ARI schedules and ensure prompt submission of eligible AGI/ARIs to the respective Residential Tenancy Boards for approval.

Other

  • Other projects or financial responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager

 

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Well organized, responsible, deadline oriented, flexible and able to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must have strong working knowledge of MS Excel

 

Compensation & Work Arrangement:

  • Competitive Base Salary between $20/hr. - $25/hr.
  • Hybrid Work Model: Minimum 3 days a week in the office.
