
Title: IT Project Manager
Reports To: VP, Innovation and Business Enablement
Position Summary: The IT Project Manager leads cross-functional project teams to the successful delivery of complex technology projects and programs. They ensure cost management of projects, customer satisfaction and acceptance of the solution by consistently applying project management discipline. From planning, solution design, build and test, vendor management, change management, through to reporting on realized benefits and the ownership of long-term business relationships, the IT Project Manager will have responsibility for managing successful technology change.
Functional Accountabilities:
- Lead the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing of IT projects
- Accountable for developing strong and effective working relationships with key areas within CAPREIT to enhance the service provided to residents and employee
- Improve internal processes and ensure initiatives are successfully communicated and managed
- Effectively lead all elements of technology vendor management - contract management, labor sourcing, software/hardware strategy and implementation
- Effectively communicates with team, peers and upper management on the status of initiatives through the development and management of project tracking, reporting and monitoring
- Effectively manage a project plan, budget and resources and ensure that project commitments and expectations are met to the sponsor’s satisfaction
- Must be an adept negotiator and facilitator, competent at relationship building and conflict resolution, possessing superior presentation skills and acting decisively at all times
- Accountable for ensuring any issues or problems are addressed in a timely manner to ensure successful completion of projects
- Creates a positive work environment and ensures optimal individual and team performance by clearly identifying and getting agreement on project objectives, providing recognition and feedback, and motivating personnel
- Utilize negotiation and persuasion to come to agreement with others
- Conduct communication with a high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to build effective long-term relationships
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education or University degree in one of following: Computer Science/Business Administration/Commerce/Engineering
- 5-7 years of proven experience in project management and IT solution delivery
- Must have extensive vendor management experience
- ERP Implementation experience is an asset
- Large-scale data migration project experience is an asset
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) designation or equivalent is an asset
- Demonstrated success and a proven track record in managing multiple projects or delivering large and complex projects under significant pressure within constraints of budget, tight timelines and resource constraints
- Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and processes
- Experience in project financial and vendor/stakeholder reporting is an asset
- Strong analytical, business and technical leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver projects within Enterprise applications
