Title: Tax Analyst, Co-op Student

 

Reports To: Tax Manager

 

Position Summary:

If you would like be a CPA specialized in Tax, then this is a great opportunity for you!

The Tax Analyst will work closely with the Tax Manager to assist in income tax compliance, tax provisions, tax reorganization along with other interesting and challenging special tax projects.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and file Canadian tax returns and forms including T2, T3 returns, T5013, T1134 and T106
  • Assist in preparation of the tax provisions under IFRS and forecast for European legal entities
  • Maintain Tax Model and supporting documents to minimize the tax exposure, and maximize the tax benefits for the whole organization
  • Assist in the implementation of tax reorganization and ongoing special tax projects
  • Assist in the preparation of tax information returns and supporting documentation
  • Prepare tax journal entries and reconciliations
  • Monitor current tax liabilities and arrange tax payments
  • Assist in responding to queries from tax authorities and external tax consultants
  • Handle tax administrative tasks and other ad hoc requests that are assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3rd/4th year student majoring in Accounting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Overtime may be required during busy periods
  • Intention to pursue CPA designation
  • Prior experience in tax and/or accounting is considered an asset
