Reports To: Manager, External Relations

 

Position Summary: CAPREIT is seeking a Content Coordinator (Junior Writer) to play a vital role in enhancing the relationship between CAPREIT and its residents through effective communication. Supporting the Customer Experience & External Relations team, this position will assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring communications that support operational and resident-focused initiatives. Responsibilities include resident resolution management communications, copywriting, awareness campaign communications, social media content creation, and website content updates. The successful candidate will contribute to the communication objectives of the Customer Experience & External Relations team while recognizing the importance of visual storytelling in their work. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, adaptable individual who possesses strong writing, editing, and content design skills, along with a willingness to learn and grow. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign) and PowerPoint is an asset.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Content Creation & Copywriting

  • Develop and write clear, engaging content to support the Customer Experience & External Relations team’s communications objectives, focusing on resident engagement and operational updates.
  • Assist in drafting resident resolution communications to address and resolve inquiries and concerns professionally and empathetically.
  • Create content for awareness campaigns aimed at informing and educating residents on company services, policies, and initiatives.

Social Media Management

  • Support the planning, creation, and scheduling of social media content on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, ensuring alignment with corporate branding.
  • Monitor social media channels for resident inquiries, responding or escalating as appropriate to maintain timely and responsive communication.
  • Track social media engagement metrics to help refine and optimize communication strategies.

Visual Storytelling & Content Design

  • Use Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) to create visually appealing graphics, layouts, and presentations that enhance written content.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate visual storytelling elements into campaigns, social posts, and resident communications.
  • Ensure that all visual and written content maintains consistency with corporate branding standards.

Collaborative Projects & Campaign Support

  • Contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning to support ongoing resident-focused initiatives and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure content is aligned with broader company goals and priorities.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with a sense of urgency.

Resident-Centered Communication

  • Approach all communications with empathy, recognizing and addressing the specific needs of residents in messaging and responses.
  • Maintain a resident-focused mindset when developing content, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and a respectful tone in all communications.

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, social media best practices, and new tools to continually improve content strategy and communication methods.
  • Actively seek feedback to refine writing, design, and communication skills, demonstrating a commitment to growth within the role.

 

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience (work, internships, co-op placements, or related coursework) in content creation, writing, communications, marketing, public relations, and/or social media marketing is preferred.
  • Completion of Community College or University coursework in public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with an eagerness to develop content.
  • Understanding of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and a desire to learn how to manage and respond to social media channels and campaigns.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) is a required.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure all content delivery aligns with corporate branding.
  • An empathetic approach that prioritizes the communication needs of residents in all projects and processes.
  • A creative eye for visual content and the ability to produce engaging copy.
  • A sense of urgency and a proactive attitude, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and adjust priorities as needed.
  • A commitment to working collaboratively within the organization and with all stakeholders.
  • Bilingual Skills: French language skills are an asset but not mandatory.
