Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized HR Co-op Student to join our Human Resources team. This role offers a valuable learning experience with hands-on exposure to recruitment processes, administrative support, and a variety of day-to-day HR activities. The successful candidate will support our team in attracting, selecting, and onboarding talent, while also assisting in general HR operations. This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in HR functions and build a foundation for a career in Human Resources.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Recruitment Support

  • Assist with job postings on various job boards and internal channels.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial candidate outreach, and schedule interviews.
  • Coordinate candidate communications, ensuring a positive recruitment experience.
  • Participate in the interview process, taking notes and providing feedback when needed.
  • Help organize and attend career fairs, networking events, or campus recruiting activities as a company representative.
  • Process background inquiries according to Company policy including reference, credit and criminal record inquiries.

 

HR Administration

  • Assist in maintaining employee records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Help with organizing and updating HR files, policies, and templates.
  • Handle general HR inquiries and requests from employees and route questions to the appropriate team member as needed.

 

Other

  • Support HR team members with day-to-day operations and ad hoc projects, including event planning and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to HR communications, such as drafting internal announcements and newsletters.
  • Help conduct research for HR initiatives and best practices related to recruitment, retention, and diversity and inclusion.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Human Resources, Business Administration, or related program that includes a co-op placement component.
  • Strong interest in recruitment and HR operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HR software or applicant tracking systems is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a positive, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
